the kitchen garden to Stocks House, involved the design and
construction of a highly individual exclusive property set in
picturesque landscaped gardens. Located in the Conservation

treatment of the house. The property, which has a floor area
in excess of 6000 square feet (including a basement of approximately

Robin Trill, Honeywick Lane, Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire
Robin
Trill comprised the construction of a large extension and the
complete restoration of the existing property. The property,
part of which was timber framed and dated back to the 16th Century,
was in a state of disrepair and required significant structural
alterations. Much of the restoration work was painstakingly
slow as great care was required to ensure the original fabric
of the dwelling could be preserved. The extension was designed
and constructed to complement the existing house and this necessitated
particular attention to detail. This included thatching the
extension to match the original structure, incorporating leaded
light windows and repeating the oak detailing to the external
elevations. Internally, the property was completed to exacting
standards including a bespoke hand-made kitchen, limestone flooring
and feature brick fireplaces.

20 & 21 Akeman Street, Tring, Hertfordshire
20 & 21 Akeman Street, located in
the Conservation Area of Tring, comprised the restoration and
extension of a Victorian cottage and conversion of the adjoining
garages/store to a separate duplex apartment. This was a unique
and ambitious project which revitalised this corner of Akeman
Street from previously neglected buildings to character cottages,
both finished to the highest specification.
Beacon View & Ridgeway House, Ship Lane, Vicarage Road, Pitstone, Bedfordshire
Beacon View & Ridgeway House formed
a small and exclusive development located on the edge of the
popular village of Pitstone. The detached homes were perfectly
positioned to enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
Both properties were lavishly appointed and included french
windows and feature balcony to master bedrooms, low voltage
lighting and decorative plaster coving to most rooms.
Gamnel Mews, Gamnel Terrace, Tring, Hertfordshire
Gamnel Mews comprised a development of
new and refurbished 2 bedroom homes occupying an enviable position
with open views over Green Belt fields on the edge of Tring.
The existing property, which contained a butcher's shop, was
converted and refurbished to provide a pair of Victorian cottages.
To the rear of the site a terrace of new 'Victorian style' cottages
was constructed adopting details such as sash style timber framed
windows and slate roofs to echo the character of existing cottages
in the locality. The development proved an instant success particularly
with first-time buyers who valued living in modern new housing
set in an established and historic environment.
Akeman Mews, Mansard Close, Tring, Hertfordshire
This mews style development located in
the Conservation Area of Tring, involved the repair and restoration
of existing period cottages together with the construction of
two cottage style homes. Many of the period features to the
existing property were restored including the decorative fireplaces.
At the same time, we were able to introduce contemporary kitchens
and bathrooms which provided an exciting contrast to the period
surroundings. The new cottages were set within the walled garden
to the existing house and this provided a distinctive mews style
setting for the whole development. The new homes were finished
to exacting standards including 'shaker' style kitchens with
stainless steel appliances, decorative living flame fires and
plaster coving to living/dining rooms. In addition, purchasers
were provided with carpets fitted throughout to a colour of
their choice.
4 & 5 Castle Row, Albert Street, Tring, Hertfordshire
4 & 5 Castle Row involved the design
and construction of two 3 bedroom semi detached houses, situated
in the Conservation Area of Tring. The properties were designed
to complement the Victorian architecture of the Conservation
Area with the use of decorative stonework to cills, lintels
and arches, sash style timber framed windows and slate roof
coverings with decorative terracotta ridge tiles. The Victorian
theme was continued internally with respect to the doors and
fittings, bathroom suites and timber framed conservatories.
Off road parking formed an integral part of the design and proved
to be an important selling point given the position of the development
in the heart of the busy historic town of Tring.
The Stocks, Cosgrove, Northamptonshire
The Stocks comprised a development of
four 3 bedroom terraced cottages in the popular village of Cosgrove.
Particular attention was paid to the use of materials on this
project to ensure the new houses sat comfortably in the rural
surroundings. The traditional stone construction and use of
reclaimed clay roof tiles ensured the new development complimented
the local stone architecture. Some of the homes were purchased
mid-construction and this allowed us to adapt individual homes
to suit the owner's requirements. This included changes to internal
colours, integrated kitchen appliances, ceramic tiling and floor
finishes.
First House, The Beechams, Mursley, Buckinghamshire
First House involved the design and construction of a substantial and individual house, situated on a prime site adjacent to the village church in Mursley. The property was designed to provide flexible accommodation with four reception rooms and four/five bedrooms. The house, which was completed within 9 months, was sold prior to completion and we were able to undertake a landscaping scheme to the gardens to suit the owner's requirements.
53 Vicarage Road, Marsworth, Near Tring, Hertfordshire
53 Vicarage Road involved the design and construction of a bespoke chalet bungalow in the heart of the rural village of Marsworth. Whilst the property displayed a sympathetic tone externally with the use of clay tiles and oak framed windows, the internal layout and design was altogether more contemporary. The project was completed in 8 months and was sold off-plan. In this way, we were able to provide the new owner with a property to suit their exact requirements.
